Adults Performance Group
2022
"Alice in Wonderland"

 Dear all Adult dancers,

Term 4 is right around the corner and that means “showtime”. After our highly successful Gala shows in the past, this year we are planning a fantastic new show, ‘Alice in Wonderland’.

The show will be held at the wonderfully big (500 seat) Alexander Theatre Monash University Clayton Campus, 48 Exhibition Walk, Clayton VIC 3800 on Monday 12th December 2022.

Our Adults bring so much to our school and for the students who would like to perform, this will give you the opportunity to show what you achieved in your dance studies.

Our production is designed to give dancers of all levels valuable performance and production experience and will bring together dancers from both our children’s and adults schools, from the ages of four to eighty-four, in a celebration of dance and its ability to unite and bring joy.

We suggest adults having at least one year current and consistent training if wishing to join the production groups.

Rehearsals are always conducted with the utmost professionalism but are also enjoyed for the social aspect, with many dancers enjoying regular post-rehearsal drinks and gatherings.

The 2022 show will be around one hour long and have the narrative of ‘Alice in Wonderland’.

 Programme

- Adults Ballet

Beginner and Advanced Adults ballet students will be dancing in the Flower Scene to the music ‘The Seasons: Spring & Summer’ by Alexander Glazunov.

Kalman aims to choreograph and create a vibrant group piece based on the ballet vocabulary.

- Adults Contemporary

Kalman will also be creating a contemporary adults work for advanced students as part of the Caterpillar scene, to the music ‘U Plavu Zoru’ by Pink Martini.

We would love as many dancers to be a part of this as possible, with the choreography to cater to the needs and ability of each dancer’s level.

We would like you to try and make all possible rehearsals, so as to not make the students that do attend all rehearsals go back and re-teach things for those who have missed numerous rehearsals.

We also strongly suggest attending your regular classes during the week to maintain technique and strength.
