Liat Kedem

As a teacher, Liat's classes are designed to be technically challenging and fun! Liat helps students to strengthen the body and mind, to find the sensations movement can bring and accentuate the beautiful intricacies movement allows us to focus on! 

 

Liat grew up in Adelaide, training with Terry Simpson and completing all Royal Academy of Dance examinations up to Advanced 2. In 2012, Liat studied with the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company in Israel where she developed her own style of movement and performed repertoire of the company. During this time, among others she worked for Oz Mulay (IL), Eyal Dadon (IL) and Nir Even Shoam (IL). In 2014, Liat created a collaborative work for the Adelaide Fringe Festival which won 'best dance' for its 'intelligent movement vocabulary'. Liat danced for Iuvenis Danza under the direction of Greta Bragantini in Italy in 2015. Liat has since performed her works and has collaborated with and danced for JC Movement amongst others, in Switzerland, France and Sri Lanka. In 2018, Liat completed a work with Lewis Major Projects in Adelaide and was part of the Young Artist Program as a choreographer and dancer in Adelaide with DanceHub SA in 2019. She is currently developing her first full length piece after obtaining a residency with DanceHub SA. Liat lives in Melbourne and is a freelance dancer, studying Law and Arts and teaching ballet and contemporary dance.
