2018
"Gala"
Dear all Adult dancers
Term 4 means “show time”. After a highly successful inaugural Gala last year, this year we are moving our end of year gala show to the wonderfully big (500 seat theatre) Eldon Hogan Performing Arts Centre at Xavier College in Kew.
Held on Tuesday 11th December 2018.
Our Adults bring so much to our school and for the students who would like to perform; this will give them the opportunity and show what you achieved in your dance studies.
Our production is designed to give dancers of all levels valuable performance and production experience and will bring together dancers from the age of four to seventy-four in a celebration of dance and its ability to unite and bring joy.
We suggest having at least 1-year current and consistent training if wishing to join the production groups.
Rehearsals are always conducted with the utmost professionalism but are also enjoyed for the social aspect, with many dancers enjoying regular post-rehearsal drinks and gatherings after rehearsals.
The 2018 show will be a ‘Gala’ style with short pieces that will entertain and delight.
Programme
- Beginner and Advanced Adults ballet students will be dancing to the wonderful score “An der schönen blauen Donau“ By Johann Strauss II, Written in 1866.
Kalman aims to choreograph and create a ballroom waltz based on the classical ballet vocabulary.
- Kalman will also be creating a contemporary adults work for advanced students to the deeply poetic song "Sara" by Bob Dylan.
- Elena will be creating an energetic Adults character piece that will delight all.
