Adults Pointe Class Workshop - Advanced Description

Saturday 1:30pm - 2:30pm
The desire to appear sylph-like demanded the creation of Pointe technique and the Pointe shoe.  Extensive training and practice are required to develop the strength, technique and artistry needed to dance en pointe.

Adults Pointe workshop classes at Melbourne Institute of Dance are delivered as a structured course for classical dancers with a solid foundation in their technique.
Â
A minimum Level 3 standard of adult ballet is required. As well as being cleared from a physiotherapist's pre-pointe assessment. (Please contact us for more information regarding pre-pointe assessments by recommended physiotherapists)

These term-long courses will teach
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Essential foot care and strengthening techniques
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Pointe shoe understanding
-Â Â Â Â Warm-up techniques
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Barre work and centre work (where safe and possible)
Each class will develop and progress from the one prior, so attending all classes is requested.

Class structure
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Student are to be ballet ready and warmed up prior to attending these classes, It is suggested that you attend the Adults Level 2 class prior. Â
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Pointe specific warm up (approximately 15mins)
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Pointe work and related activities (approximately 45min)

Saturday 8th Feb till Saturday 5th March Inclusive

Cost $270 for the Term 1 course
