Tzu-Chao Chou
Guest Teacher
Born in Taiwan, Tzu-Chao trained in the Vaganova technique before moving to Melbourne to study at The Australian Ballet School. With his extensive training and stand out talent he accelerated through the programme, graduating Dux of his year with an Advanced Diploma of Dance.
He was offered a contract with The Australian Ballet, and rapidly moved through the ranks. Some of his repertoire of Principle and Soloist roles included La Specter de la Rose; Franz in Coppélia by Dame Peggy Van Praagh; Kostchei in Fire Bird by Graeme Murphy; Por vos muero pas de tori by Nacho Duato; Prince Florestan and Blue Bird in Sleeping Beauty by Stanton Welch; Flower Festival in Genzano pas de deux by August Bournonville.
Ready to spread his wings, Tzu-Chao took flight to England, accepting a contract with Birmingham Royal Ballet
Promoted to Principal Artist in 2017, he gained great acclaim performing around the world. His current career highlights include Scuola de ballo by Alexei Ratmansky; Symphonic Variation by Sir Frederick Ashton; The Prince in Nutcracker by Sir Peter Wright and Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet by Sir Kenneth MacMillan.
Tzu-Chao is an amazing dance educator and holds a Graduate Certificate in Elite Dance Instruction from The Australian Ballet School.
